About The Position
Intern will assist Navarro Mills Lake park rangers with interpretive assistance, recreation maintenance, and recreation program management duties.
Requirements
- Interns must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Must have the ability to effectively speak, read, and write in English.
- Must have the ability to work outdoors and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Providing interpretive assistance
- Recreation maintenance
- Recreation program management
- Invasive species outreach
- Support the Water Safety Program by delivering water safety presentations tailored to various audiences at the project and conducting brief, informative talks in high-traffic areas to promote responsible water use
- Maintaining the life jacket loaner program, ensuring a full inventory of properly sized and functioning life jackets, tracking usage, and reporting maintenance needs
- Accompanying Park Rangers on interpretive patrols, providing visitor assistance, answering questions about water safety, and conducting safety inspections
- Distributing educational materials, promote the program through various channels, collect data, and maintain interpretive signage
- Assisting with a variety of minor repairs and projects
- Sign repair/replacement
- Facility painting

- Trail maintenance
- Survey and map recreation facilities, utilities, and signage
