About The Position
Come join Washington State Parks as a PARK RANGER 1 where you're responsible for preserving and enhancing our state parks and natural resources. This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) seasonal Park Ranger 1 position at Battle Ground Lake State Park. The expected duration of this 6-month, seasonal appointment is May 1, 2025, through October 31, 2025. Park Housing is not available for this position. Battle Ground Lake State Park - (located in Clark County) is a forested camping park in the Cascade Mountain foothills; its proximity to Vancouver and Portland and its cool green lake make it a great escape from the bustle of city and suburbs. The 280-acre park offers hiking, biking, horse trails and a primitive equestrian camping area. The spring-fed lake is attractive to swimmers and paddlers and is stocked with trout, making it a favorite of anglers. As a Park Ranger 1, you will have the ability to work outdoors in a beautiful and scenic environment, while being part of a team that supports one of the most diverse state park systems in the nation.
