About The Position

The Park Manager B position is responsible for managing the operations, interpretation, maintenance, and law enforcement activities at Chemin-a-Haut State Park in Bastrop, Louisiana. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the park, ensuring superior customer service, and maintaining fiscal responsibility while coordinating with various stakeholders.

Requirements

• Four years of experience in historic site operation, outdoor recreation operation or administration, law enforcement, interpretive services, building construction or maintenance, mobile equipment operation, or as a parks building and grounds attendant.
• College training will substitute for the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and care of site facilities.
• Approve and promote site programming/events.
• Perform regularly scheduled overall park and playground inspections.
• Manage park facility expenditures.
• Purchase and/or oversee site materials and supplies.
• Coordinate park maintenance projects.
• Coordinate major park maintenance or construction projects with Resource Development staff.
• Administer grant projects related to the site.
• Work directly with local law enforcement to control violence and vandalism.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relevant to the worksite.
• Direct patrol activities to detect any violations of agency or departmental rules.
• Prepare plans, specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates for projects, programs, and equipment.
• Review, recommend revisions, and interpret rules, regulations, and laws.
• Serve as a liaison for the site with outside agencies.
