About the position

Join the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources as a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker for the Raymond B Winter State Park Complex. In this position, you will perform general maintenance and repair work in the park and assist other tradespersons in grounds maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. You will complete routine repair jobs, and preventative and operational maintenance for facilities, equipment, and natural resources including cleaning, basic repairs, and adjustments. Work also includes assisting with the maintenance of park vehicles, maintaining records of jobs completed for a supervisor to review, and leading individual or groups of volunteers to complete volunteer projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair work in the park.
  • Assist other tradespersons in grounds maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Complete routine repair jobs and preventative maintenance for facilities and equipment.
  • Maintain records of jobs completed for supervisor review.
  • Lead individual or groups of volunteers to complete volunteer projects.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Benefits

  • Seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • Days vary to include weekends and holidays if needed.
