About The Position

Join the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Moraine State Park Complex as a Park Maintenance Worker and provide skilled work in the maintenance of district roads, trails, and facilities. In this position, you will engage in semi-skilled maintenance and construction tasks, either independently or while supporting a skilled tradesperson, or leading a small team of manual laborers on routine assignments. Your responsibilities will encompass operating various construction, groundskeeping, and maintenance tools essential for park upkeep. Tasks will include mowing grass, trimming weeds with a riding mower or weed eater, cutting firewood, collecting litter, transporting materials in trucks, cleaning grills, sweeping paved surfaces, digging holes, and maintaining drainage systems. Additionally, you will perform custodial duties to include cleaning restrooms, prepare sites, establish new turf, and care for trees and shrubs. While you will carry out minor repairs and general groundskeeping with a degree of autonomy, more complex construction or repair tasks will be conducted under the guidance of a skilled trades worker or supervisor.
