Performs park maintenance and construction work in City park and recreation areas. The Park Maintenance Worker series provides for four levels ranging from the training level to the journey level including lead responsibility to the working supervisory level. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS Under general supervision, performs park maintenance work and/or serves as a lead worker over a small park maintenance crew. Lead supervision may include non-permanent, part-time, seasonal, and summer employees. This level is distinguished from Park Maintenance Worker I in that it involves work requiring greater skill and independence and/or lead responsibility over a small crew. Incumbents in this class are expected to operate trucks and other automotive equipment as part of their regular assignment.
