About The Position

The Parks Groundskeeper I reports to the Parks Supervisor and is responsible for many tasks. The main responsibility of this position is mowing. Other tasks may include ballfield maintenance, refuse removal, natural area landscape maintenance, and maintenance of parks and site amenities. Will also assist with renovation of existing fields as well as perform seasonal duties, including snow removal, salting, and outdoor ice rink maintenance. Will assist with special event set-up and take-down, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
A valid Illinois driver’s license is required.
This position can be physically demanding and includes significant exposure to dust, dirt, and debris from the dragging of the ballfields.

Nice To Haves

The best applicants will have a high school diploma (or equivalent) along with some prior experience in ballfield maintenance.
