About The Position

The Parks Groundskeeper I reports to the Parks Supervisor and is responsible for many tasks. The main responsibility of this position is refuse removal. Other tasks may include ballfield maintenance, mowing, natural area landscape maintenance, and maintenance of parks and site amenities. Will also assist with renovation of existing fields as well as perform seasonal duties including snow removal, salting, outdoor ice rink maintenance. Will assist with special event set-up and take-down and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some prior experience in ballfield maintenance
• Valid Illinois driver’s license
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
