About The Position

Employee will maintain City parks and parks areas. Perform a variety of duties to include trimming, mowing, pruning trees, facility cleaning, garbage pickup, special event preparation and take down, and other duties as assigned. Correct any unsafe conditions and report them to the supervisor. Employee will operate hand tools and small power equipment that related maintenance tasks require. SUPERVISION Employee is responsible to work and lead a crew of 3-5 employees. Employee will keep the crew on a timeline set by the Parks and Recreation Director and the Parks Foreman. The Crew Leader will promote safety by making sure everyone is wearing the appropriate safety gear to perform assigned tasks. The Crew Leader is responsible for reporting any malfunctioning equipment to the Parks and Recreation Foreman.

Requirements

Graduation from High School or GED Certificate preferred. High School Students may be acceptable in some circumstances.
Ability to work with necessary equipment to complete the tasks successfully.
Must possess a valid South Dakota ID.
