About The Position
Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is a nature-lovers paradise featuring our white sand beach. The resort is located in Dawson Springs, Kentucky’s first certified Trail Town. Clifty Creek Restaurant at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is looking for a Park Chef II. We offer a variety of foods in a warm and cozy setting for the dining room guests as well as groups for meetings and meals. Clifty Creek Restaurant has a beautiful view that overlooks the Pennyrile Lake. The Park Chef II is a highly skilled team member, providing expertise in the restaurant, kitchen, and catering operations, allowing you a great platform to express your culinary creativity through made from scratch recipes and fresh ingredients. As one of the leaders of the culinary department, your duties would include training others and being the vital link of information on the necessities of the park, so it can operate efficiently.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Must have four years of food preparation experience in salads, vegetables, or meats. Two years of the required experience must include management or supervision in a large-scale institutional or commercial full-service restaurant or state resort park food facility.

Responsibilities
- Supervision of all kitchen staff including scheduling, hiring, and payroll.
- Conduct ordering and inventory.
- Front line cooking of all menu items following recipe specifications.
- Cook for buffets including specialty recipes, meats, vegetables, deserts, and soups.
- Salad bar preparation.
- Ensure a clean and organized kitchen.
- Deliver the most pleasant experience for our guests.
- Participate, implement, and manage food product consistency
- Enforce departmental rules, regulations, and policies.
