About the position
The Park Aide (Seasonal) position is an entry-level, seasonal Visitor Services role at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve in Carmel, CA. This position is highly visible and involves greeting visitors, providing accurate information, and handling fee collection and sales. The role requires a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and basic accounting skills for collected fees. The selected candidate will work under the direction of the Senior Park and Recreation Specialist and will be led by a Senior Park Aide. The position may require working weekends, holidays, and special events, and can involve up to 1500 hours of work within 12 consecutive months. This position is not eligible for telework and requires a background investigation process prior to appointment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and provide accurate information to visitors.
- Handle fee collection and sales.
- Follow directions and learn work procedures and park rules.
- Interact positively with the public.
Requirements
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to do basic accounting for collected fees.
- Possession of a valid driver's license of the appropriate class.
- Safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
