Parenting Skill Instructor/Family Coach
About The Position
Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is seeking a part-time Parenting Skill Instructor/Family Coach to join our team. This role teaches parenting skills and appropriate decision-making techniques to individuals who are at risk of or have previously lost custody of their child. Depending on the family's needs, the services will be provided in a classroom setting and at home. The individual should receive consistent guidance, direction, and support that correlates with their court-ordered case plan, program goals, and necessary lifestyle changes to promote a functional family unit.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Child Development or 5 years of experience working with families and children.
- A certificate in First Aid and CPR is required and will be provided by the agency.
- Must have a valid driver's license and automotive insurance. Must regularly provide the agency with proof of valid automotive insurance.
- Travel within communities served.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including but not limited to inside, sedentary work; constant bilateral reaching at all levels; constant handling/fingering; fine finger for computer operation and writing; frequently stand, sit, and walk. Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; ability to walk up to 60 feet; occasionally climb, balance, stoop/bend, and crouch/squat.
- Background and FBI/BCI checks are required.
