About The Position

Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health diagnosis.  PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research. Performs parenting and reunification sessions in individual and group settings with clients on-site at PAR Village. Assists in building parenting skills, to support the parent in developing parenting and co-parenting plans. The counselor will work with a team of clinical staff. This position will also provide evaluation, screening and assessment services as needed for the clients, their children and significant others. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Human Services or related field or Bachelor’s Degree in another field plus minimum two years work experience with adolescent age and families. (A comparable amount of training, education, or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualifications if regulation requirements for the position are met).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Human Services or related field or Bachelor’s Degree in another field plus minimum two years work experience with adolescent age and families.
  • Ability to write accurately and legibly
  • Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers
  • Ability to accurately type at least 40 words per minute
  • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend and to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors
  • Must have a valid driver's license or ID card
  • Must pass a level II background check and drug screen
  • Must maintain current training as required by Operation PAR, Inc.

  • 3 weeks of PTO per year (on top of holidays).  PTO increases to 4 weeks/year after 2 years of employment, and then to 5 weeks/year after 5 years of employment.
