The Parent to Parent Program Facilitator will oversee the NICU Family Centered initiatives and activities developed within the NICU committees to ensure a successful Parent to Parent program that aligns with Family Centered Care principles in the CFH NICU, Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative, and Vermont Oxford Network quality improvement recommendations. Responsibilities

  • Manages NICU Family Centered Care initiatives/activities developed within the NICU committees.
  • Attends required CFH training sessions.
  • Respect family choices, values, beliefs, and cultures.
  • Comply with Infection Control policies and procedures and HIPAA.
  • Actively participates as a front-line example of extra-ordinary customer service.
  • Respect and protect the confidentiality of patients and families.
  • Serves as on-site resource and support for families and staff.
  • Round on NICU families and parents.
  • Lead the Parent Support group meetings.
  • Connect patients and families with appropriate hospital support and resources.
  • Function as a liaison among patients, families, and staff to facilitate customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate communication among families and health care members to promote safety and quality and to provide a seamless patient experience.
  • Assist with policy review and project implementation for NICU quality improvement.
  • Participate in Vermont Oxford Network (VON) committees and conferences.
