PARENT SUPPORT PARTNER - 32 HRS
About The Position
A Parent Support Partner, under the general supervision of a HealthWest program supervisor, provides support, education, and empowerment activities to parents, caregivers, and guardians of children with serious emotional challenges. An employee in this classification coordinates and/or co-facilitates parenting groups, meets with parents and/or caregivers on an individual basis, and supports parents and/or caregivers in Person-Centered Planning meetings or Wraparound meetings. This employee transports individuals receiving services, completes necessary documentation which includes communicating effectively in both oral and written form and maintaining accurate records, including utilizing basic computer software, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test.
- A parent or day-to-day primary caregiver who has lived experience and is currently raising, or has raised a child with emotional, behavioral, mental health challenges and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
- Possess a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.
- Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.
- Must become a certified Parent Support Partner within 18 months of employment.
