About The Position

As a Bilingual Spanish Parent Partner for Collaborative Educational Support (COEDS) in Camarillo, California, you will use your empathy, respect, and listening skills to help parents become the best they can be. You will provide hands-on peer support and help families navigate community systems and resources, contributing to the growth of every family member and supporting them as they thrive in their independent, healthy lives. You'll work as part of a team with youth partners, family social workers, field-based clinicians, and program managers to provide holistic care treatment for youth and families. Your role will involve advocating for parents and helping them gain the skills and tools needed to be independent, confident parents. The job requires flexibility in scheduling to meet parents' needs, which may include working outside of traditional hours.

Requirements

  • At least four years of real-life experience as a parent or primary caregiver.
  • Successfully navigated mental health, probation, child welfare, special education, or regional center services for your child.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on peer support to parents and families.
  • Help families navigate community systems and resources.
  • Advocate for parents to help them gain independence and confidence.
  • Assist with budgeting and establishing house rules.
  • Support parents during court proceedings, IEPs, or family meetings.
  • Engage resistant parents using interpersonal skills and shared life experiences.
