Currently, we are seeking qualified applicants for the position of CHIP Parent Educator in our Bristol, Virginia office. This position will provide in-home services to pregnant women and families that have Medicaid eligible child/children up to the age of 6. Services include screenings, goal setting, linkage to appropriate agencies and resources to meet family needs, education to parents on child development, safety and parenting using the Parents as Teachers curriculum; and assistance with transportation, when needed.

Requirements

• Knowledge of child development, prenatal and postnatal care.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Ability to work with families from various socio-economic backgrounds.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred but experience considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities
