Paratransit Quality Control Specialist Location: Bronx Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour Schedule: Full-time | Various shifts including weekends and holidays Start Your Career in Transportation and Maintenance If you’re looking for a hands-on role that can grow into a lasting career, this position is an excellent starting point. As a Paratransit Quality Control Specialist, you’ll help keep our vehicles fueled, clean, and ready to serve the community each day. This entry-level position gives you exposure to a professional maintenance shop environment — allowing you to gain real-world experience, build relationships with mechanics and shop leadership, and open doors to future roles such as Mechanic, Maintenance Supervisor, or Paratransit Driver.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older (required).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable, safety-minded, and detail-oriented.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Comfortable with physical activity — bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, or extended hours as needed.
  • Interested in learning and growing within the automotive or transportation field.

Responsibilities

  • Fuel, inspect, and reposition paratransit vehicles for daily service readiness.
  • Check and record fuel readings, track inventory, and complete variance reports.
  • Inspect vehicles for physical damage, tire pressure, and fluid levels (oil, coolant, transmission, etc.).
  • Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors to maintain fleet quality standards.
  • Support yard organization, building upkeep, and seasonal outdoor maintenance.
  • Follow safety and environmental procedures, including spill response.
  • Communicate vehicle or yard issues to maintenance leadership promptly.
