About The Position

Transdev drivers are a specialized team of people! We operate paratransit vehicles serving people with disabilities throughout Nassau County, NY. Each day our drivers transport individuals who rely on our service to doctors' appointments, work, grocery stores, and much, much more! As a driver you will provide our clients with the freedom and independence of reliable, safe transportation. If you love helping people and driving - come work for us! Transdev is proud to offer Starting hourly rate $23.4463 with progression to $25.4366 over 4 years.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
A valid NY State driver's license D or E Class in good standing is required.
Must present an original Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) issued within the last 30 days
Previous bus or heavy-duty vehicle driving experience preferred
Excellent customer and communication skills
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules
Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Previous bus or heavy-duty vehicle driving experience preferred

Responsibilities

Safely transporting passengers in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the service area
Assisting in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly secure wheelchairs and scooters
Notify dispatch of any incidents, accidents, mechanical concerns
Other duties as required
