About The Position

Paraspecialist (up to 2 positions) Needed Location: Williston Central School Williston Schools seek two full-time, energetic paraspecialists to join our special education team. Our team is seeking one individual to support our elementary school students, and one individual to support our middle school students. We are looking for skilled, caring individuals to provide intensive support in the areas of multi-layered curriculum or curriculum overlapping, communication, behavior, and activities of daily living across school settings. Candidates will be an advocate of inclusive education, problem-solver and strong collaborator, and a positive team member. Ability to promote child growth and foster independence and a willingness to learn are essential. Candidates will work under the supervision of a professional to: Direct, adjust, or develop elements of student instructional and behavioral plan Foster independence so that student can fully participate in school activities Collect, maintain, and interpret data Integrate instructional, behavioral and communication interventions into the classroom Ideal candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and demonstrate the ability to build relationships and rapport with students and school teams. The hourly range for a paraspecialist is $28.62 - $30.53 based on education and experience. The contracted hours are 6.5 hours a day for 194 days.
