About The Position

The Paraprofessional position at West Park School District involves providing instructional support and assistance to teachers and students in a designated instructional program. The role includes performing various support activities related to behavior management and classroom instruction, as well as clerical support duties related to classroom and program activities. This is a part-time position requiring 5 hours of work per day from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a salary of $12.78 per hour.

Requirements

• High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or State High School Proficiency certification.
• An Associate's degree or higher, or equivalent experience demonstrating the knowledge and abilities required.
• Two years of study at an institute of higher education equivalent to 48 semester units, or successful completion of the Fresno County Office of Education adopted Paraeducator Academic Assessment.
• For Preschool positions, six (6) units of Early Child Development are required within the 48 units.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks concerned with the educational activities of the students under the supervision of a designated supervisor.
• Assist the teacher by working with individual groups of students and maintaining learning stations.
• Design and prepare instructional materials including room arrangements.
• Participate in training sessions.
• Operate audio-visual equipment and assist with classroom management.
• Provide tutorial services on a wide variety of subjects under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Maintain and update educational files for individual students and assist with the completion of various student forms and reports.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in in-service education activities.
• Maintain order within the school and on school grounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
