Job SummaryThe Paraprofessional at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic School supports the learning and developmental needs of a designated student by providing instructional reinforcement, behavioral support, and individualized assistance as directed by the classroom teacher and learning consultant. This role helps ensure that the student’s learning plan is implemented consistently and effectively within the classroom environment.

Requirements

• Ability to follow directions, implement instructional strategies, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to establish positive rapport with children.
• Understanding of developmental needs and a willingness to learn individualized strategies for supporting the assigned student.
• Enjoys working with young children and demonstrates patience, flexibility, and reliability.

Nice To Haves

• Preference for candidates with a background in Education, Special Education, or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing modified instruction, skill reinforcement, remedial support, and coaching under the guidance of the classroom teacher and learning consultant.
• Support the implementation of a student’s individualized learning plan.
• Collect, record, and report data related to student progress and daily activities.
• Collaborate with the teacher and learning consultant to monitor goals and adjust support as needed.
• Participate in training provided by teachers, the learning consultant, One Classroom, or other resources to ensure consistent and effective support.
• Help maintain a positive, structured, and encouraging environment for the student.
