About The Position

The Tax Experienced Paraprofessional at BDO is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and preparing client tax data to ensure the accurate and timely completion of business and individual tax returns. This role also involves performing administrative duties that support the tax department's processes and procedures, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the tax services provided.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of industry-related experience in a professional services firm required.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects/tasks with attention to detail.
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or in coordination with other professionals.
  • Understands and maintains the confidentiality of all information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse personalities in a tactful and mature manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond tactfully and professionally in high-demand situations.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and executes projects related to tax and consulting processes and procedures.
  • Complies with all Firm policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual (TQM) and seeks advice regarding issues and problems related to tax compliance and consulting.
  • Uses and inputs client information into the Contact Resource Management system.
  • Researches public information.
  • Performs billing and account management.
  • Uses the Firm's compliance software to maximize efficiency of tax returns, client billing, and account management.
  • Meets internal deadlines to match client expectations for timely delivery of service.
  • Identifies missing tax return items to ensure that client data is collected in a timely manner and complies with filing requirements.
  • Other duties as required.
