This is a full-time, non-exempt position for the academic school year, based at the Technical Education Center. Compensation is determined by the ESP II Master Agreement, with initial step and lane placement reflecting the candidate’s education and professional experience. School Calendar-181 days at 6.50 hours per day) Employment Status: Union, Non-Exempt Qualifications: Experience in one or more technical education fields (e.g., industrial/skilled trades, health, business, technology, graphic communications, or marketing) is highly preferred Prior experience with students with special needs preferred. Physical Requirements: Stand for extended periods of time Kneeling, bending, and walking Lift up to 40 lbs. Driving may be necessary for this position which would require a valid driver’s license. General Description: A paraprofessional is a person who assists the professional educator in the initiation, participation and culmination of learning activities that occur in the teaching/learning experience. The primary function of the paraprofessional is to assist students with special needs in the successful completion of the technical program they are enrolled in. The paraprofessional can be assigned to work within any Technical Education program where needed (e.g., Computer Networking and Information Technology, Graphic Communications, Health Occupations, Marketing, Auto Mechanics, Auto Body and Collision Repair, Building Trades, Mechatronics, or Welding).
