Paraprofessional ELL Willett Elementary School Essential Job Functions: Assist ELL students individually and in small groups in the classroom (letter naming, sounds, sight words, segmenting, blending, number ID, oral counting, comprehension, grammar, etc.) Work with small groups outside of the classroom on targeted skills (see above) and language/ vocabulary development Weekly/periodic progress monitoring of students' skills and progress Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify areas of focus for groups/individual students Assist with duties Experience working with ELL students and bi-lingual individuals preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others. Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work. Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
