Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior experience working with students, especially in a classroom setting.
• Comfortable working with special needs students.
• Ability to pass a clear FBI-DOJ background check.
• Negative TB Test Result.
• Experience in paraprofessional roles (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist students in K-12th grade before and after school hours.
• Supervise students during non-instructional periods as specified in IEP documents.
• Work with special education teachers to support students with IEPs.
• Provide assistance with individualized programmed materials.
• Help develop classroom schedules in collaboration with teachers.
• Carry out instructional programs designated by the teacher.
• Collect functional behavior assessment data on individual students.
• Take anecdotal notes on student targeted behaviors.
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials for special education teachers.
• Make informed decisions about accommodations and modifications with the teacher.
• Facilitate peer supports and positive relationships among students.
• Provide bathroom assistance to students as needed.
