Salary Range: New hires will be set at $21.787 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $21.787 to $26.123 per hou r. For detailed compensation information, view the Para Salary Schedule . The salary listed reflects the 2025–2026 school year. Salaries for the 2026–2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. If any updates or adjustments are made once the new salary schedule is finalized, all impacted individuals will receive the updated salary. Requirements

  • For ECE Para's Only: Copy of your high school diploma or GED AND must successfully complete ECE 101 within a designated period of time which will be determined after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and supports accommodations and modifications specified on Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and teacher lesson plans.
  • Prepares and sets-up educational materials for preschool children with and without disabilities.
  • Discusses and coordinates instructional efforts with teachers and other educational staff; communicates and coordinates with students and parents about routine educational issues.
  • Assists with conducting testing and assessment, multi-media activities, record-keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities as they pertain to working with preschool children with and without disabilities.
  • Provides daily living procedures such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene as trained and directed; additional duties may include health support delegation such as g-tube feeding or catheterization.
  • Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and lifting techniques.
  • Supports embedded and direct learning opportunities during all daily activities in the preschool class schedule.
  • Assists in maintaining high and low adaptive technology equipment.
  • Monitors student activity in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds and other locations as required or requested.
  • Completes training programs and attends meetings as required.
