About The Position

The Paraprofessional position involves supporting teachers and students in an educational setting. The role requires performing various duties under the direct supervision of assigned teachers, which may include implementing tutorial activities, assisting with medical and hygiene procedures, and supporting the educational process of students. The position demands physical capabilities, including lifting and transferring students or objects, and requires adherence to professional ethics and school policies.

Requirements

• Must have passed the ETS Para-Pro Assessment with a passing score of 450, completed two years of full-time study from an accredited institution, or earned an Associate degree.
• Must complete 15 hours of general education requirements including English Composition, English/Reading, and Mathematics.
• Must possess motor coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to perform physical tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties under the direct supervision of assigned teachers, including implementing tutorial activities and assisting with hygiene procedures.
• Perform physical demands requiring frequent lifting, carrying, transferring, or pushing of objects or wheelchairs weighing at least 50 pounds.
• Assist with medical and hygiene procedures as determined by student needs, including tube feeding and medication administration.
• Support students' instructional process as planned by teachers, including scoring tests and recording data.
• Keep a log of daily activities performed with itinerant, within and/or between schools.
• Support and implement the discipline philosophy of the school.
• Attend IEP and other staff meetings as requested.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or Superintendent.
