Administers basic and advanced life support to sick and injured persons in the out-of-hospital setting under the direction of the District Medical Director utilizing District protocols. The role also involves protecting the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the District’s privacy policies, procedures and practices as required by federal and Colorado law and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a healthcare provider. Access to protected health information and other patient information is limited to what is necessary to complete job duties, and sharing is restricted to those with a need to know for treatment, payment, or company operations. Employees are encouraged to report privacy concerns and are expected to participate in privacy training and communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients and others in accordance with District policy.
