This specific role is for a Paramedic within the Emergency Services department at Ascension St. Elizabeth facility in Appleton, WI, operating on a PRN (as-needed) schedule.

Requirements

Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Drivers License credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Paramedic credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides basic and advanced life support treatment, care and evaluation of patients.
Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes the ill or injured patient under the direction and incollab oration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
Initiates and implements interventions based on transport team protocols.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
Provides population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
Inspects, maintains and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
