About The Position

The Paramedic will provide emergency and non-emergency care and transportation in the pre-hospital environment and scenes, operating at the Paramedic level of care as defined by the Ohio EMS scope of practice. This role involves safely and efficiently operating an ambulance and maintaining current required certifications and continuing education. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Paramedic Certification State of Ohio
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • AHA Healthcare Provider BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational/ Technical Degree in Paramedic
  • 1-3 years preferred experience
  • AHA PALS
  • NRP
  • ITLS/PHTL with in 6 months of hire
  • IS 100 and IS 700

Responsibilities

  • Responds to Calls and performs patient assessment and triage
  • Perform IV Therapy and administer approved medications per Ohio EMS Scope of Practice
  • Performs advanced airway management per Ohio EMS Scope of Practice including needle decompression and advanced airway placement
  • Cardiac Monitor strip interpretation all rhythms per scope of practice and defibrillation
  • Participate/attend required/mandatory trainings
  • Provides proper care, safe, and efficient transport
  • Maintain proper reports and records
  • Care for vehicle and equipment
  • Maintains confidentiality and actively supports patient/family rights
  • Serve as a patient advocate
  • Performs other duties as assigned
