About The Position

As a Paramedic, you will provide advanced emergency medical care and transport to critically ill or injured patients in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings. Every day you will rapidly assess scenes, evaluate conditions, and administer life-saving interventions, while safely operating emergency vehicles and documenting care. To be successful, you will demonstrate expert clinical skills, exceptional critical thinking under stress, and compassionate communication, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

• High School Graduate
• Six months experience as a paramedicwith an accredited EMS agency or FireDepartment. Hiring manager may considerthe applicants field internship as qualifyingexperience if the preceptorship wascompleted at a Dignity Health NorthService Area facility and successfullycompleted.
• Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic: CA, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and (Must be through the American Heart Association)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and (Must be through the American Heart Association)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire and (Must be through the American Heart Association)
• CDMC, upon hire
• Certified Ambulance Driver: CA, upon hire
• Driver's License: CA, upon hire
• Local Paramedic Accrediated, upon hire

Responsibilities

• Maintains established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement program and safety standards.
• Performs patient systems assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner.
• Enters patient data into computerized patient care reporting system so that there are no deficiencies.
• Performs direct patient care and implements patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner while administering medications and performing procedures consistent with EMT certification.
• Administers medications and performs procedures consistent with Paramedic certification and selected S-SV EMS treatment protocols.
• Participates in problem identification and patient care planning.
