About The Position

Requirements

  • High School diploma OR GED required.
  • Current Colorado Paramedic License is required.
  • Must possess current certification in ACLS and BCLS.
  • Three years of previous EMS work experience is required.
  • Knowledge of use and proper utilization of personal protective equipment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of the region to assist with location of call-outs/nearest treatment facilities.
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques.
  • Ability to engage with and work with other personnel and teams.
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement policies and procedures.
  • Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations.
  • Required to submit to a two-step PPD test or other established means.
  • Required to complete field training evaluation period as part of credential establishing process during first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Respond rapidly to emergency calls and assess patient conditions
  • Deliver high-quality pre-hospital care following Colorado protocols
  • Communicate effectively with ER staff via radio or phone
  • Administer advanced and basic life support, including medications and procedures
  • Operate and maintain EMS equipment (defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, IVs, etc.)
  • Safely transport patients to appropriate medical facilities
  • Complete accurate and timely patient care documentation
  • Maintain ambulance readiness, cleanliness, and inventory throughout shifts
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and professional ethics at all times
  • Collaborate with team members and maintain communication with dispatch
  • Support safe patient movement and handling in all environments
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain required certifications
