About The Position

Planned Systems International (PSI) is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team at Hurlburt Field, FL. The Paramedics/EMT-P will support the AFSOC Field Skills Training program, assisting with medical emergencies and transport. Our EMT-Ps will manage medical plans, emergency response plans, and medical supplies in support of Field Training. In emergencies, they will administer CPR and provide ambulance services, coordinating with Government team leaders to initiate transport to the nearest treatment facility. The EMT-Ps must maintain a driver’s license, ALS certification, and a current, accredited NREMT-P certification and paramedic license, with at least 1 year of recent full-time EMT-P experience in the last 2 years.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMTP) certification program.
  • A current, valid paramedic license and MREMT certification must remain current throughout contract performance.
  • One (1) year of full-time experience as NREMT within the last two (2) years of providing EMT-P services.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Certified in Advanced Life Support (ALS).
  • Experience utilizing MS Office.
  • Knowledge of current hospital and pre-hospital protocols in order to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care of patients in clinical and pre- clinical settings.
  • Knowledge and skill in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced life saving measures used to initiate resuscitation measures when necessary and assist unit in providing support measure.
  • Meet one of the below qualifications: licensed paramedic (state or national), Medical Doctor (MD), Physician’s Assistant (PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or current (within the last 12 months) Army Military Occupational Specialty 68W, Health Care Specialist; or 18D, Special Operations Medical Sergeant.
  • Must be agile and capable of adapting to different environments/conditions.
  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting forces in accordance with the requirements outlined below.

Nice To Haves

  • Combat medic experience.
  • 68W (US Army's Combat Medic) or 18D (Special Forces Medical Sergeant).
  • Navy Corpsman, Air Force IDMT, SOFME, or similar experience.
  • Experience with Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Instruction.
  • Practical experience operating didactic, hands-on level instruction in the AFSOC Tactical Operations Medical Simulator (TOMS) lab.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate patient care, adhering to treatment protocols, physical orders, and AFSOC Surgeon General guidelines.
  • During non-emergency periods, support patient care within an established Ambulatory Care Unit.
  • Operate under the authority of the AFSOC Surgeon General.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient care protocols, first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
