About The Position

Saint Luke's Community Hospitals -Roeland Park is currently seeking a Full-Time Paramedic for the Emergency Room setting on Nights. Shift : Full-Time Nights 7:00PM -7:00AM 3 shifts per week 4-5 weekend shifts per 6 weeks 1 major holiday, 1 minor holiday, and 3 hard-to-fill shifts annually Requirements: The Paramedic must have a current Kansas Paramedic Certification 1 year of Paramedic experience. Responsibilities: This Paramedic position performs duties within the scope of practice in an Emergency Room facility setting. Under the direction of the on-duty physician, the Paramedic will take patient vitals, monitor cardiac and respiratory status, administer approved medications, applies and adjusts orthopedic appliances, and assist the patient care team as directed. Obtains/records vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight). Monitors patient’s respiratory status and initiates oxygen therapy and treatments per protocol and as ordered by physician. Performs oral, nasal and ET tube suctioning Performs additional skills which may include, but not limited to: phlebotomy, IV initiation, medication administration, and maintenance,12- lead ECG, waived laboratory testing per unit competency Initiates cardiac monitoring; demonstrates ability to detect dysrhythmias and notifies registered nurse/physician. Administers approved medications as ordered by the physician. Applies orthopedic appliances including but not limited to: extremity splinting, clavicular, straps, cervical collars, ace wraps, ankle air splints, knee immobilizers, slings, simple splints, and adjustments to crutches. Assists in C-spine stabilization/immobilization, placing patient on backboard while maintaining cervical alignment. Reports adverse treatments or medications in accordance with current policies and procedures Demonstrates the ability to collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA and TJC regulations and established policies and procedures Ensure proper supplies, appropriate medical equipment and medications are available for patient care and par levels meet facility needs Prepare patient meals Job Requirements Applicable Experience: 1 year Paramedic (KS) - Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services Job Details Full Time Night (United States of America) The best place to get care. Requirements
