Piedmont Eastside Medical Center's Emergency Department is seeking positive, self-motivated, engaged individuals excited for growth to join their team. The 38-bed Emergency Department sees an average of 160 patients daily with various acuities and is a primary Stroke and Stemi receiving facility capable of administering thrombolytics. The department features two helicopter pads and 5 PODs, including a Behavioral Health Pod, where patients are assigned based on acuity. The team consists of Charge nurses, ED Flow Coordinators, Paramedics, ED Techs, PCTs, Mental Health Technicians, and Unit Secretaries, all working in close collaboration with ED Providers to deliver exceptional care. All staff must have BLS, while RNs require ACLS and PALS. NIH certification is highly preferred and must be obtained within an allotted timeframe. The Paramedic, under the supervision of a Professional Registered Nurse and/or Physician, is responsible for facilitating age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Paramedic participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of health care services and tasks, and also acts as a patient advocate, teacher, performance improvement participant, and oversees unlicensed personnel.
