About The Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responds promptly to all request for patient care as directed. Completes documentation and records according to department and state policies. Ensures vehicle and equipment are ready for responses at all times. Performs assigned duties in the emergency department under the supervision of the Emergency Room Nurse, Physician, and/or Supervisor. Acts as a team leader when dealing with emergency responses. Takes proper care of the vehicle and equipment. Pursues new levels in paramedicine technology and participates in activities, which contribute to professional growth and development. Participates in community activities, which improve the public’s understanding of the EMS system. Attends and completes all required safety and annual training requirements as assigned. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives. Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned. Professional Requirements: Complete annual education requirements. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Report to work on time and as scheduled. Wear identification while on duty. Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations. Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times. Comply with all organizational policies. Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values. Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.

Requirements

  • Current Paramedic state certification.
  • Minimum of two years full-time experience as a provider of prehospital care.
  • Current certification in CPR, American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross CPR for the professional rescuer.
  • Current certification in advanced cardiac life support, American Heart Association.
  • Current motor vehicle operators state license.
