The Paramedic provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment, including advanced-level medical care, evaluation, treatment, and stabilization to the ill and injured. This role requires a comprehensive knowledge base to diagnose and provide care for a broad range of medical emergencies. Responsibilities include responding to calls for emergency medical assistance, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or bandaging a wound, assessing a patient's condition, determining a course of treatment, and providing first-aid treatment or life support care according to acceptable medical practice standards.
