To protect your workforce, we are at your fingertips: internationalsos.com Location: Kuwait The Paramedic will utilize their knowledge and proficiency of evidenced-based medical practice and Intl.SOS protocols to manage unexpected and emergent situations and treat a variety of injuries and illnesses in a prompt and professional manner. The Paramedic will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect medical care to patients in emergent situations. She/ he will competently function as a member of the team to provide patient-centred medical care in the pre-hospital setting.

Requirements

  • Ability to assess and treat adult and pediatric patients in pre-hospital setting.
  • Ability to successfully perform ALS interventions in accordance with protocols
  • Ability to administer medication in adult and pediatric patients in accordance with protocols
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient IT skills including use of electronic medical records systems
  • Ability to function with accuracy and efficiency in high pressure or emergent situations.
  • Ability to respond calmly in emergency situations.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness with the willingness to work with a foreign national patient population
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively work with persons of diverse age and economic background in a culturally competent manner.
  • Must be able to manage and provide concise directions to supporting staff.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing work conditions and responsibilities.
  • Hold a current unrestricted US license as a Paramedic - Required
  • Possession of a Paramedic Level Certification (NRP) from the National Registry (NREMT) - Required
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - Required
  • A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to deploying.
  • To be considered for the position, you must have at least 18 months left on your passport before renewal.
  • You must also maintain that passport during your stay.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a remote setting is preferred
  • Prior military or fire experience preferred
  • Tactical Combat Casualty Care or Pre-Hospital Trauma Course– preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides 24/7 365 emergent EMS response on the site.
  • Provide paramedicine pre-hospital support to patients within the site, outside the site, and during transfer to local higher levels of care.
  • Ambulance operations, EMS response and the subsequent support of the medical team within the clinic are the primary responsibilities
  • Assist medical providers with medical procedures and treatments as allowed within licensed scope of work.
  • Assessment and documentation of the patient’s vital signs, chief complaint, medical history, prescribed medications.
  • Report all changes in patient’s conditions to the medical provider.
  • Proactively and independently administer basic paramedic level care within the standing orders and SOPs without exceeding your licensed scope of care., Assist patients with basic care and activities of daily living, as needed.
  • Provides support and education to help patients make responsible health decisions
  • Maintains Area of Responsibility (AOR) supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies
  • Restocking EMS units once supplies are received as well as assisting other clinic operators with restocking
  • Cross-train to work within in the clinics, emergency room, and inpatient units.
  • Other duties as assigned.
