Paramedic Schedule: PRN- Availability to work a variety of shifts How you’ll contribute A Paramedic who excels in this role: Perform lab draws, EKGs. Take vital signs, place patients on monitors. Transport patients throughout the hospital. Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources. Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility. Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives. Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary. Interviews patients and/or caregivers to collect information regarding current home medications Utilizes appropriate equipment/accessories to collect information from outside sources (physician offices, retail pharmacies, family members) regarding home medications. Contacts and communicates with other care providers (pharmacists, nurses, physicians, etc.) to facilitate the processing of home medication information. What we’re looking for Applicants should have a current state paramedic license and possess high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include: Successful completion of a CAAHEP accredited paramedic education program. Minimum of 2 years of field experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 60 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) strongly preferred. Handle With Care (HWC) within 90 days of hire. One year of experience preferred. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
