This posting is for 12-hour shifts in Metro Bakersfield. We also have rural station openings on 24-hour shifts in blocks of 2 shifts (48 hours at a time) available in West and North Kern County. The Bakersfield Metro is currently ranked 5th in the Nation for Homeownership Rates among under-35 residents. Requirements

  • A National or State Paramedic License.
  • Valid driver license with an insurable record.
  • Be at least 20 years old by the time you start work.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to compassionately serve the patients in your community.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Completion of a recognized Paramedic training program.
  • Valid & current State of California Certification as an EMT-P in good standing.
  • Valid & current Class C California Driver License.
  • Insurable by Hall Ambulance Service, Inc. driver's insurance policy including age minimum of 20 years.
  • Valid & current Ambulance Driver Certification and Medical Examiners Certificate.
  • Valid & current CPR card.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to medical emergencies in the community.
  • Assess illnesses and injuries and administer basic to advanced emergency rescue and paramedical care.
  • Provide medical treatment to the ill and injured and manage the illness or injury during transport.
  • Prepare patients for transport via ambulance to hospital.
  • Guide and support EMT's in the application of appropriate EMS techniques.
  • Operate emergency vehicle and equipment to care and transport the patient effectively.
  • Complete patient records and transfer of information to healthcare provider.
  • Provide compassionate patient care.
