  • Ensures subject safety, health and well-being under the direction of the chief physician/investigator.
  • Monitors the subject population at all times, noting and treating adverse events (AEs) as needed.
  • Determines when/if an adverse event should be brought to the attention of the physician/investigator.
  • Provides basic and advanced medical care, both emergent and non-emergent, to all study subjects.
  • Independently directs the resuscitation and stabilization of a subject in any life-threatening situation.
  • Monitors and records Adverse Events (AEs) and reviews all active AEs prior to dose of study drug.
  • Acts as primary subject safety contact for all study subjects in the Clinic.
  • Monitors cardiac telemetry for potentially serious arrhythmia and intervenes as necessary.
  • Performs technical procedures in the Phase I unit including blood collection, vital signs, and ECGs.
  • Assists Project Managers, Physicians and study teams in the logistical planning of study conduction workflows.
  • Performs all forms of dosing, including IV, IM, SQ and oral.
  • Assesses out of range values for symptomology and may medically intervene should study subject's safety be in question.
  • High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
  • Texas Licensed/Certified EMT-Paramedic and American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 4 years which should include 3 years experience as a Paramedic on an ALS unit and/or in a clinical setting).
  • Strong paramedic skills including airway management, phlebotomy, I.V. establishment, and injections (intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, management, and physicians in a professional and credible manner.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple complex tasks.
  • Ability to effectively and competently manage emergency medical situations.
  • Ability to perform advanced medical care - both emergent and non-emergent.
  • Variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results.
