About The Position

The Paramedic Transport PRN position at AdventHealth Orlando involves providing direct and indirect patient care, including basic and advanced life support for patients of all ages. Requirements

  • Graduate of a Paramedic program.
  • One year of patient care experience.
  • Valid Florida State Licensure as a Paramedic.
  • Valid Class 'E' Florida Driver's License or Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Commercial Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) or Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates of Science (AS) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health Related Field.
  • Critical Care Paramedic Certificate.
  • Instructor status in one AHA certification (ACLS/PALS).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care under general supervision.
  • Administer basic and advanced life support for patients of all ages.
  • Work as a team member during patient transport and assess patient care per department protocols.
  • Complete medication, supplies, and equipment inventories each shift, restocking as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and keep the unit in a constant state of readiness.
  • Utilize knowledge of service areas to take the most direct route to destinations.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely in various weather and emergent conditions.
  • Effectively communicate delays and updates to dispatch and report any vehicle issues to the supervisor.
  • Document patient assessments and interventions accurately according to department protocols and AH policy.
  • Communicate effectively with other healthcare team members and provide complete verbal and written documentation for handoff of care.
