About The Position

The Paramedic Supervisor provides emergency and non-emergency treatment and transportation of patients in the pre-hospital and inter-hospital environments at the advanced life support level. This role involves working with a variety of people and organizations on a professional level to provide care to patients and the community. The position requires twenty-four hour supervision of staff along with management of the organization when the department manager is not present.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be free from physical or mental defects or disease that may impair ability to drive an ambulance and/or function as a Paramedic.
  • Valid PA Department of Health certification as a Paramedic or health care professional.
  • Certified by the American Heart Association in Basic Trauma Life Support/Pre-hospital Trauma.
  • Certified by the American Heart Association in both Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Certified by the American Heart Association in Advanced Pediatric Life Support.
  • Field operational as a Clarion County Paramedic, or equivalent standing orders from another county with approval of the Clarion County Medical Command Director.
  • Must qualify as a paramedic preceptor for Clarion County.
  • Valid PA driver's license.
  • Must not have been convicted within the last four years of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and within the last two years, has not been convicted of reckless driving, or had a driver's license suspended under the point system.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course (EVOC) certification as approved by the Department of Health or obtained within one year of initial employment.
  • Recognizing and Identifying Hazardous Materials Awareness Level Certification Training Program provided by the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy or approved equivalent program or obtained within one year of initial employment.
  • Meet any and all additional requirements under the PA Department of Health and Act 45.

Responsibilities

  • Provides pre-hospital, emergency patient care within the scope of training and limits of practice.
  • Completes all required patient care documentation accurately and within a twenty-four hour timeframe.
  • Operates emergency vehicles within the PA laws governing the operation of such vehicles.
  • Performs and oversees routine daily inspections, inventory, and maintenance of vehicles and patient care equipment.
  • Performs and oversees station duties which include cleaning and routine maintenance of living quarters and vehicle storage areas.
  • Maintains familiarity with and enforces all company rules, policies, and procedures as outlined in the operations manual.
  • Reviews daily trip reports and completes data entry for billing.
  • Makes operational manpower decisions relative to duties of other employed personnel.
  • Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations, and standards of conduct relating to the position.
