About The Position

The Paramedic position at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) involves providing and documenting individualized patient care, including patient assessments in collaboration with the supervising RN or RT, maintaining airway patency, IV access, ECG interpretations, and assisting with orthopedic equipment. The role requires advanced skills and judgment in various clinical settings, including the Emergency Department and Critical Care. The position operates on an 8-hour shift schedule from Monday to Friday.

Requirements

• Successfully completed a Paramedic program.
• Current certification as a Paramedic (PMD) in the State of Florida, renewed every 2 years.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
• Maintains current ACLS certification.
• One (1) year of previous Paramedic experience required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care requiring advanced skills and judgment in the Emergency Department, Critical Care or Respiratory Department settings.
• Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient's condition to the Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, and other providers.
• Documents findings of care provided according to established guidelines.
• Provides for the physical comfort and safety of patients, visitors, and healthcare team members.
• Prioritizes and sequences work activities to ensure patient comfort, safety, and progress toward established goals.
• Administers limited medications safely within defined education guidelines and competencies.
• Facilitates patient movement within the department and through the facility.
