About The Position

CSL Plasma is seeking a Paramedic or Nurse (LPN, LVN, or RN) to join our team in Lubbock, Texas. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will conduct interviews and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability, respond to medically related questions, and review test results to assess donor symptoms. You will also notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and provide routine care following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements

  • Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic medical training program.
  • If graduated from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must be currently licensed as a physician or state certified as an emergency medical technician.
  • For New York: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD, or DO in the state of application or in a reciprocal state.
  • Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
  • Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
  • Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision.
  • Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including administering medication or treatments.
  • Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to obtain necessary information.
  • Respond to medically related questions and provide information on donor suitability.
  • Review test results and determine continued donor suitability.
  • Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer them to community facilities for follow-up.
  • Provide routine care following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and escalate critical medical situations as required.
