Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an approved Paramedic Program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Paramedic License in the State of Practice.
• Registered Paramedic with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of their license under physician supervision.
• Administers medical treatment of wounds at various levels and manages medications according to established protocols.
• Draws bloodwork, places splints, performs Foley insertions, and uses medical devices like glucometers and I-STAT.
• Documents patient-related tasks accurately and complies with EMTALA regulations.
• Adapts behavior and communication style to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
• Supports physicians and nursing staff by adhering to established objectives, policies, and procedures.
