About the position

Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service, Inc. is seeking dedicated and skilled Paramedics to join our team across multiple locations in Illinois, including Elmhurst, Oak Lawn, Markham, Chicago (Illinois Medical District & Chicago North), Des Plaines, Green Oaks, Schaumburg, Aurora, Elgin, Cary, Joliet, Evanston, Rockford, and Grayslake. As a Paramedic, you will play a crucial role in providing safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals, adhering to state EMS regulations. Our company has a rich history, having started in 1959 with a single ambulance and growing to become the largest independent, locally owned emergency medical services provider in the Midwest, employing over 2,500 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses, and operating a fleet of more than 500 ambulances. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering on-site medical care at various events, including sporting events and local venue stand-by coverage. You will assess patients, provide appropriate medical care, and ensure safe transportation by accurately navigating to locations. Documentation is a key aspect of your responsibilities, as you will need to provide written reports detailing patient conditions, medical histories, and treatments administered. Additionally, maintaining the ambulance in a sanitary condition and monitoring all vehicle fluid levels and gauges is essential to ensure operational readiness. Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site medical care to large crowds such as sporting events and local venue stand-by coverage.
  • Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in their training as a Paramedic.
  • Provide safe transportation, accurately discerning street names and addresses in the most expedient manner.
  • Assess a patient and accurately convey the condition to other medical professionals.
  • Provide an accurate written report describing a patient's condition, medical history, and the treatment provided.
  • Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
  • Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition, monitoring all fluid levels and gauges.

Requirements

  • NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) or current state license (or pending).
  • Ability to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Pass a pre-employment interview including a physical and lifting examination, drug screen, and background check.
  • Attend company provided training and driving course.
  • Work at station part-time for a minimum of two months and successfully complete field training for entry.
