About The Position

The Paramedic or Licensed Practical Nurse, in alignment with the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) and the Division of Student Affairs, provides high-quality clinical support within the university health clinic, assisting with patient triage, assessment, and treatment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurses and nurse practitioners. This role supports the delivery of timely, safe, and student-centered healthcare services while promoting wellness and ensuring efficient clinic operations. The Paramedic or Licensed Practical Nurse delivers a full range of clinical and outreach services, including individual patient care, prevention, and health education programming. The Paramedic or Licensed Practical Nurse plays a critical role in fostering a safe, healthy community, while promoting a culture of care across campus. This position contributes directly to the student success and retention by addressing the physical health needs of a diverse student body, including those pursing academically rigorous and high-performing programs in aviation, aerospace, and STEM disciplines. Requirements

  • Formal diploma/certificate/degree program of 6-18 months after high school (Paramedic/Practical Nursing)
  • Current state certification/licensure as a Paramedic or a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Basic Life Support
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records
  • Competency in phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKGs, would care and CLAI-waived laboratory testing
  • Knowledge of confidentiality laws (HIPAA, FERPA) and documentation requirements
