About The Position

The Paramedic Lead supervises their assigned EMS crews, orders and maintains supplies, assures Quality Control of EMS services, and provides general support to the EMS Manager and Deputy Manager. In addition to their supervisory duties, the Paramedic Lead will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect medical care to patients in emergent situations. She/ he will competently function as a member of the team to provide patient-centered medical care in the pre-hospital setting.

• Possession of a Paramedic Level Certification (NRP) from the National Registry (NREMT).
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of paramedic experience in a busy 911 system.
• Must be physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned, including the ability to perform physically demanding training activities.
• Must be able to pass a Mod 17 physical and dental exam.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
• US DOS clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
• Must be able to relocate to project.
• A valid passport from country of record with 18 months remaining is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation.
• You must maintain a current passport during your stay.

Nice To Haves

• Tactical Combat Casualty Care or Pre-Hospital Trauma Course - preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification - preferred.
• 2-3 years of Supervisory, Logistics, Quality, or Training experience preferred.
• 6 months of experience working in Kuwait preferred.
• Prior military or fire experience preferred.
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Paramedics (EMT-Ps) and EMT-Bs throughout the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
• Provides management and oversight in one of four functional areas: Training, Quality Assurance, Supply/Logistics, and Safety.
• Assists EMS Deputy Manager with day-to-day operations.
• Manages the on-the-ground orientation and on-the-job training program for all newly hired personnel
• Supports the professional development program for all personnel under the direction of the EMS Manager and Deputy Manager, and in coordination with the Training Officer.
• Responsible for Special Projects as assigned by the EMS Manager or EMS Deputy Manager.
• Maintains vehicles, equipment, tools, and protective clothing in a serviceable, ready-response condition.
• Responds to emergencies as required.
• Administers medical services for patient care within the scope of their training.
• Responsible for creating, maintaining, and addressing issues regarding shift schedules.
• Conducts recurrent proficiency training and OJT.
• Evaluates medical skills and abilities of assigned EMS staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the EMS Manager or EMS Deputy Manager.
• Arranges transportation for employees to and from work.
• Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
